May Workout of the Month

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!  I don’t know where you all are, but here in Columbus, Ohio the weather is just absolutely beautiful!  With all of the sunshine, it was only fitting to break out my tank tops.  And that inspired me to make May’s Workout of the Month all about arms!  Sleek and sexy, tight and toned, tank top arms!  Just in time for summer 🙂

May Workout of the Month

As usual, please consult your physician before performing any type of exercise and make sure you are properly warmed up before starting!  This workout is going to focus on your upper body, specifically shoulders, back, triceps and some chest, to get you feeling confident in those sleeveless tops.

What I love about this workout is that you don’t need any equipment at all, and you don’t need a ton of space!  This workout can be done just about anywhere – can’t get much simpler than that!

Tank Top Ready Workout


Push Ups  – This is a classic push up.  Start in plank form and lower yourself down to just above the floor.  Then push yourself back up.

Triceps Dips – Start with your feet and hands on the ground with your stomach facing up.  Keep your torso up and lower your body down to just above the floor.  Then push yourself back up.

Plank Taps – Start in plank form with feet a bit wider.  Tap your right shoulder with your left arm while keeping your entire body tight.  Repeat with right arm.

Superman – Lay down on your stomach.  Lift both your arms straight out in front of you.  At the same time, bring both legs up off the ground as well.  Hold for 30 seconds.

Plank Twist – Start in plank form.  Lift your right hand up towards the sky twisting your torso.  Return it to the ground and repeat with your left hand.

Shoulder Squeeze – Start on your stomach.  Rest your hands by your ears, your arms bent.  Keeping your feet on the floor, lift your arms into the air squeezing your shoulder blades together.  Lower back down to the ground.
